Committee Meeting Notes, March 18, 2020

A message from Sara Crook, Committee Chair

In light of the unprecedented times we are experiencing, all of us being over 60 (elderly) and many with underlying health issues we have decided to cancel our March 18 meeting. We are also going by this advice: “Do I really need to do this? If you play out the worst-case scenario, will you say it was worth it to have done that?”

So our Reunion meeting can be cancelled and we will plan to meet in April 4/15. We’re really far along with planning our Reunion and here are the updates:

Susan and Kathy (graphic designer) are almost finished with the redesign of our webpage incorporating our awesome The Best Goes On logo. It looks fantastic and easy to navigate. It will still be on the same webpage URL and will go live before we send Save the Date. We’ll let everyone know when it goes live.

Save the Date card ready to send by Kirkwood District once the webpage is completed which is very soon. After Save the Date is both mailed and emailed we will look at who we didn’t reach and make another effort to find those people we thought we had good contact information for,  we will need volunteers for this.

Goal is for Registration to begin in June.

Deb Erb has investigated local hotels for group rates and been successful in this endeavor. This information with links will be on our webpage.

Jack James explored costs for a picnic lunch day for Sunday event and is willing to obtain food and cook that day including making his amazing brownies. We think it’s nice not to bring your own food and only bring your own drinks.

We will miss gathering with our classmates. Praying that social distancing can be lifted soon and the virus can be curtailed/eradicated. Thanks to all who are working hard to make this a special event. Stay well.
